Google announced a naming rebrand of its publicly available AI model Bard. Now named Gemini, the update has come with the release of a Gemini app available on the Google Play Store. A new and improved version of Gemini, Ultra 1.0, has also been released as part of a new subscription for Google Gemini Advanced.
Gemini is gaining new features quite often, while the whole ecosystem around the LLM is coming into shape. Improving integrations with Google Drive and Workspace plus the rollout of a native app will streamline the user experience, driving user adoption.
As you can see from the article’s images, I have been experimenting with the capabilities of image generation. All images in this article have been generated using Google Bard — Gemini image generation.
Gemini Advanced, is the model and subscription service that is bundled with 2TB of cloud storage and other premium Google One benefits, this primarily gives you access to Gemini’s more powerful version.
Gemini Advanced with the Ultra 1.0 model has improved multimodal abilities, Google is particularly promoting the generation of code and increased understanding of mixed media prompts.
I will be working with and testing both versions of Gemini while I experiment with A.I. and learn to configure and deploy models. I plan to introduce new integrations and features to my website, thedvnvs.com, powered by similar tools.
